"We want an increase in line with the cost of living - we want to be able to buy, in 2022, what we could buy in 2021," he said.

Don't we all, mate. It's the same for all of us.

Talking to a lady who now works part time for them and has refused to come out on strike. They get free train travel, taxi's to work, car park full of flash cars and most have 2nd houses etc etc etc. They are just delusional.

As a teacher I don't even want to think how much less I'm on as a teacher than I was 10 years ago. I've had fuck all pay rises in a decade. If we add the cost of living / inflation and the national insurance hike its starting to become a futile fucking enterprise.

Loads of other professions have had similar. Train drivers only push a fucking button and they can fuck off

I would give them a Thomas the tank engine model for their service and get some bots in.

It’s more than money it’s terms and conditions, pensions, change of working week, overtime, call out. There are no negotiations they are forcing it through.

Imagine if everyone had a job where your break restarts if any of your bosses talk to you during it.

They'd never be any work done in the real world.

Then why not just strike because pensions are being changed etc, instead of being greedy fucks and asking for 10% or whatever they area asking?

Rightly so. Why should people be interrupted on their unpaid break?

All key workers should be paid like Goldman Sachs workers

If your boss said hello to you while you were having a break from tarmacking, would you have the balls to say "fuck off, I'm restarting my break from the beginning", or would you think that would be taking the piss?

I'm assuming these blokes don't stand next to a fireman on the Bluebell Line, so I'd ask the question, in 2022,: why train drivers?

Re: Train drivers on £60k to go on strike
Put out an advert for a train driver job at 40k and there will be a queue round the block. That suggests an adjustment to their wages is required. Thankfully their ridiculous wages are very much on the government radar.

On govt radar? Private companies aren’t they are they on the radar of the London office wankers?

If youre irritated by a differnt job getting decent wedge them go apply for it.

Strikes are one way to for employees to get what they are worth.

I suspect everyone else feels underpaid too.

There are some idiots on here…..including the OP. It’s the classic politics of envy and a race to the bottom. Good luck to the train drivers and their union’s fight. You who criticise workers, like train drivers, get more worked up by workers who fight for their pay and conditions than the filthy, corrupt rich who rip us off by the millions every day. Bunch of fecking doff cappers.
Furthermore. - consider the responsibility driving a train entails, and the years….yes, years of training that they have to go through.
And just for transparency: no, I’m not a train driver…..I’m just a fella who wishes his fellow worker all the best against the twats who are bringing this country down, it’s not coming from unions, benefit claimers, refugees, blacks, Asians, Irish, Jew, Arab…. Just look up.

Re: Train drivers on £60k to go on strike
You know what, you're right. Simply FUCK all those commuters and people that need to travel.

My issue with striking is the rail companies couldn't give a shit, they've got loads of people on rail season tickets and won't affect them

This will directly hinder people trying to get to work or go about their business.
